White Dwarf - May.

The May issue of White Dwarf is in the shop complete with Necrons. Lots of Necrons.

There's an excellent continuation of last months 'How to Paint' guide (and we've kept that mag should you want part one).

Storm of Magic gets some new spells, there's Empire Heraldry too, plus, plus, plus. And there's Necrons.

Hobbit film blogs

For the LOTR fans among you, here's a fantastic link. It will take you to a collection of Peter Jackson blog films as he directs The Hobbit. They are amazing.

8 Projects

I was asked, some time ago, what army projects were featured in the new How to Paint book.
They are as follows -

Warhammer - Orcs and Goblins, Empire, Tomb Kings.
40K - Tyranids, Space Marines, Dark Eldar.
LOTR - Gondor, Harad.

Hope that helps.

Skaven, High Elves

Some lovely people called in at the shop recently, Katie Jones and Matthew Thomas.

They then kindly sent photos of some of their models, Skaven and High Elves, perhaps from The Island of Blood boxed set?

Here are just a few of them.

Don't forget, a click on a pic will enlarge it.

Great painting you two.
Keep in touch and please send further photos of future models.

Space Wolves and Carnivore Squad

Our good friend Josh called in today and bravely gave me these excellent Space Wolves and Tau Kroot Carnivore Squad to photograph.

Unfortunately an accident befell one of the Kroot.

I expect a letter from his solicitor is in the post.

I hope it WAS repairable Josh.

If not, see me next time you are in the shop.

Good painting though!

Hobbits etc

Some of our readers/customer may, by now, have realised that I (Tony) am a  bit of fan of Hobbits and all things pertaining.

One of the best places to look to see how the Peter Jackson film is progressing is www.theonering.net and they recently provided links to some amazing photos of Hobbiton, the film set. Just click on the links.

OK, so not much to do with wargaming (unless you want a model Hobbit-hole) but this link is -

It's just full of bright ideas on modelling.

How to Paint

I've nobbled my copy of How to Paint Citadel Miniatures, had a quick look through it and can report, it's excellent.

Very well laid out with pictures all the way to show the new paints in action.

Next, I'm looking forward to the DVD.

I wonder if it will put me straight on these confounded Possessed Chaos Space Marines?

Discount Prices

Oh! How could I forget.

We adopted a new discount scheme last month, one army from each range was to be discounted.

Now, as neither David nor Nina can tell an Orc from an Ork or a Dark Elf from a Dark Eldar, we have decided to revert to having a
discount price for every box of models.
That includes starter sets, boxed games, the new Citadel Finecast models and models not in stock, but ordered in, especially for you.

Good, eh?

The Colour of Blood

Our good friend and long term painter suggests Mechrite Red and then build up to Blood Red.

Better but still not right.

Perhaps I'll get him to show me how.

1 Possessed, 4 to go.

Meanwhile, I've finally finished the first one of the 'Possessed' Chaos Space Marines for Henry. Hope he's pleased as it's taken me ages.

That's a Space Marine's arm that he's just chopped off, by the way though the 'blood' could be more realistic. 'Blood' Red is not quite the ticket. Any advice?

(Don't forget, right clicking on a picture usually gives you a larger view)

More stock than ever

We are still adding to our range and, as you can see, we are overloading the one stand we have.

There are also spares upstairs, of course.

We have even more items due to arrive by the Bank Holiday including some additions to the Lord of the Rings range.

Plus some of the new 'How to Paint Citadel Miniatures' book/DVD - one of them is MINE!
