Todd's Ork

It seems only two minutes ago when Todd came in for a box of Orks, some paints and brushes.

Here he is, back again with a finished model.

Thanks very much Todd for coming in so quickly and letting this green-skin appear on the blog.

I'll send his fee in the post.

Looking forward to seeing the whole gang.

Space Marines

Young Andrew called in recently and showed us his latest batch of three models.

He's recently bought himself a fine-detail brush and it shows in his work.

'The right tool for the job', he says.

Mind you, he didn't use a fine-detail brush to inflict that damage on one of his poor troopers. More like a large axe.

Aerial Assault

The new releases in the latest White Dwarf will excite Necron fanatics as well as those who follow Space Marines for each have aerial combat additions to drool over.

However, for me, ex-RAF type that I am, I just love those chunky Blitza Bommers, Burna Bommers and the Dakkajet.

The latest White Dwarf has pages of painting guides for all these new releases plus ditto on the White Scars and Evil Sunz Ork Clan and their Dakkajet (which is an option-build in the Blitza Bommer/Burna Bommer box)

Lots too on Warhammer but, at first glance, not a LOTR item in sight.
Waiting for The Hobbit, perhaps?

Clanrat Guard

Here are the Skaven I worked hurriedly on (spent too much time painting alien plants!).

The only ones with arms out of the twenty!

The wall is Andrew's manufacture with a sprinkle of mud and grass from me.

Alien planet

In our window, right now, you'll find these guys checking out the flora on a alien planet.
The green ones are kin to Triffids. They started off on the other end of that base and gradually made their way to their present position.

If you want to see them, I'd get down the shop quick, before they crawl off and disappear altogether. The blue/purple ones are harmless and make great camouflage for these scouts.

Here they are, out of hiding.

Italian GW fans

Difficult to believe but this lovely couple biked it, all the way from Italy to see if we had any bargains for them.

I was careful to write down their names and where they came from ... now where did I put that piece of paper?

Oh well.

However, I did find the piece of paper with 'Puddles' written on it.

That was the dog who recently appeared on the shop blog
http://cotswoldbookstore.blogspot.co.uk/    so we might be in luck in a few days time.

Armless Skaven

Remember that bit about the 'Possessed' missing legs? The 20 Clanrats I'm painting, which I bought at a bargain price, months ago, on e-bay, only have three arms!

Moral - check your bargains carefully.

New box of Skaven bought with spare arms. They have a different fitting but I can adapt.

Andrew's Orks

Young Andrew came in again, this time to show us how he's painted up these Orks.

Rather well, don't you think?

(Click pics for a good look)

I was most impressed by the Grot.

Takes some doing, painting detail that small.

Seems he's a thieving Grot too.

The evidence trails behind him.

Thanks for the lamp guys. Will put it to use Monday evening.

Possessed - at last

I seem to have been working on these four Possessed Chaos Space Marines for the past six weeks whereas, in fact, I've only been working on them for the past six weeks!

Where's the fifth?

I guess he went out to the pub for now he's legless.

Can't find them anywhere.

These are Henry's models, now to tackle a few Space Wolves that Lewis wants me NOT to do.

He wants me to crack on with the mega box but I need to get one lot finished before starting another.

That way madness lies.

I also need to do the Skaven for the window.

Watch this space (in six weeks time!)
