Osgiliath Ruins delayed

A photo to show that progress is being made.

There are three ruins to show off, one by Henry and I've done a couple.

I've taken a number of shots in the past month but I'm still waiting for the installation of Win 10 on the computer.

Doing so is too big a challenge.

I can't reduce file size as I'm unable to re-install Photoplus 9 (I've lost the input key)

The answer should be 'Never make changes'. Unfortunately Microsoft insist on doing so.

How did it come to this !

Hobbit Hole 2

Well, I found a way to do it but here I may not have a reasonably reduced image (first one)

I'll work on it.

The small window frames are the wider end of needle protectors  from insulin doses.

It's mostly foam card and balsa.

The door was marked out using the plastic top making it about right for Bilbo but a crouch for Gandalf. The inside of the door frame is card, marked out and painted before bending to fit. The brick door surround became a headache so I stuck to wood.

The brick colour isn't right and I should have used a glue filler mix before painting so as to make the mortar visible when scratched in.

The windows have been glazed with thin clear plastic and behind that, garlic bag stretched as diamond panes (should have painted them black) Behind that again, card painted blue. Idea came from GW's 'How to Make Wargame Terrain' but I don't know if it's supposed to be light from inside, curtains or what. I'll try yellow next time.

Hobbit Hole 1 may follow.

Hobbit Hole Problems

Sorry folks.

Photos taken of the progress, such as it is, on Hobbit Holes. However, getting the file size reduced for the blog is proving impossible at the moment. The new machine does not have Serif on it and though I have the discs, I cannot remember passwords. I can use the old computer and transfer them after reduction but that doesn't seem to work.

We'll get there!

Maybe we'll also get there on the front of a Hobbit Hole but so far there have been too many problems.
