Skaven Rat Ogres

 

I've used a base spray of light brown from Cobra.

Perfect for the skin. Not so for the metal.

The upper one has a coat of black before the metal work.

The lower one has metal painted on to the light brown.

Looks a little wishy washy.

Plenty to do yet - strapping, lumps and bumps

and highlighting.

I've used Ratskin Flesh rather than a paler pink as on other Skaven.

He was part finished so a quick gallop reached the line.

Copper and brass are not coming up so well now.

I guess a lot of the metal sticks to the pot bottom, despite stirring.

They are very old paints.

Assembly only, as yet.

When putting together the second one,

I twigged that the pins were just a damn nuisance.

Testing the two halves together before gluing

 makes for difficulty prising them apart.

There's only one way they can fit.

Snip them off.

Warpfire Weapon Team

So here's the 'Warpfire Thrower weapon team' finished.

A sudden flurry of work done as I'm too damn knackered,

after Covid, pneumonia and housemaid's knee,

to work on the allotment.

The images are a bit dark because I was on overtime.

 

Skaven progress

 

This Warpfire Thrower team were started way back

but I've made some progress recently.

I'll get them finished, glued together and then consider the base.

Earlier Skaven bases were very simple

but it seems a shame to waste the space on this one.
