Charlie's Bommer

Young Charlie and his sister Clara (who is also a GW fan) called in yesterday for a set of dice.

He also set out to make me drool by showing off his Ork Bommer.

That's the biggest piece of Games Workshop kit I've seen assembled and I'm jealous.

I wants it, my precious!

He's got some work to do painting the junk on the base which will be a nice touch, when finished.

Don't forget, a click on the pic will give you a larger image.

Three mousketeers?

Here's the last three Skaven, ready for the shop window but for their teeth and toe nails.

Our Games Workshop rep, Chris, was in yesterday and suggested, as 40K is so popular, it might be good to have some 40K models in the window.

The ones we've had so far have belonged to my Grandsons and they keep needing them.
Meanies!

He's quite right though, so I'll get painting a few just for the shop.

Superb paint job

Now how about this for a paint job.

This character is on loan to us so that we might take some photos and put him in the window for a week or two.

Trouble is, I'm afraid to let him out of my sight in case someone walks off with him.

We usually put the name of the owner of featured models but even that worries me in case he's broken into and his model stolen!

Still, I'll risk it.

Thanks for the loan Justin. Come and collect him though, he's making me nervous.

Don't forget to click on the pics to enlarge them.

Sholto and LOTR

Our good friend Sholto (a Hobbit name if ever I heard one) called in yesterday with some excellent LOTR models which he'd painted up in fine style.

Pics were taken at end of day when there was a glimmer of sun (still getting used to the new camera and cannot control flash!)

Thanks for the loan Sholto. They really are excellent, Elves and Dwarves both.

Might try a few Dwarves myself when the Space Wolves are done.

Pied Piper needed

Here's the whole display unit and how the Skaven and High Elf appear in the window.

You don't get this quality of joke in Game Workshop!

High Elf v Skaven hordes

About time too.

The Skaven have taken me ages at about an hour per evening.

The High Elf was tricky too.

An e-bay purchase so no real guidance.

That pile of White Dwarfs was a boon though

I know there's work to do but they are headed for the shop window tomorrow.

I note we're hijacked on the word Hi gh

Window Unit

The Skaven are just about done. Now for a high Elf on horseback to oppose them.

They'll end up on our window display shelves.

I lost that early blog. Here are some shots of that unit.

Just click to enlarge.

Hijacked again 'dis-play' is not us.

Justin's Dragon

Don't panic folks. I've not given up our Games Workshop blog.

I've been busy with other things and with painting some pesky Skaven. (Yes, those ones with the missing arms, though they did eventually turn up)

However, we have been short of photos lately so I'm grateful to Justin, who came into the shop a couple of weeks ago, for sending a photo of his Warhammer Dragon.

(A new camera is on its way. One that doesn't put stripes over everything)

American beginner

A young American boy started out on the Warhammer 40K trail by buying a paint set. I've just had a thought that, though we chatted for quite some time, I never suggested watering down the paints.
American boy - I know you have our e-mail address on our card so drop a line when you get home and I'll advise.
