Proof that I am working on this group of grey's. (Eomer's troop is stated in the book to be riding on grey horses)
The lower left one, with the experimentally painted tail, is the first out of the stable.
I varnished the tails as the paint rubs off the dry brushed edges in handling.
The first is finished.
(However, I've just noticed the unfinished nostrils!)
The general view is to play down decorative bases when painting special characters (not that I do so) but on ordinary troops, I can go to town.
Hence a likely looking stick becomes a mossy log.
Here, I just liked the shadow.
Cotswold Bookstore has closed. This blog is now, simply, my LOTR record.

Prince Imrahil
I found Prince Imrahil sulking on a bookshelf downstairs.
This was, presumably because his cloak and shield had not been painted.
I tossed up between white cloak as I remember it from the book and blue cloak as in GW.
It came down tails.
As you can see, I'm not up to the mark when it comes to shield motifs.
The white and blue lines on the cloak could do with less wobble too!

John's Pump.
John's been busy again, pumping iron, or rather old bits of string and junk , for his ever expanding Bag End
I'll let him explain in a comment.
Meanwhile, all work is on hold while the invasion of grandchildren occurs.
Just when I was on a roll!
More later.
