Land Speeder

Lewis's Land Speeder is nearly done and as he's due to call in to see me tomorrow, I've hurriedly 'finished' it.

Yes, there's blue-tack in evidence but I'll talk to Lewis about glueing them in place or not.

He wanted some battle damage (including a blood pool!) which will be difficult to do with the troops in situ (or standing up).

The handles by the doors are not all fixed, nor are there supply packs on board but Lewis might accept it as it is till term break up at Christmas.

Next project? Well there's a tactical squad to be done or some more Skaven or a host of LOTR troops.

Last Special Edition

Wow! That was close.

Young Theo rushed in after we had sold the last two special edition Dark Vengeance box sets this morning.

Luckily, I hadn't grown too attached to the one I'd set aside for myself.

(A bit of hay fever was the cause of the tears and they weren't sobs, they were hiccoughs)

Yes, that's it folks. From now on it's the standard edition we'll have in stock.

I guess I should have ordered at least ten more!

By the way, are these guys your? Terrible isn't it. I've already forgotten who they belong to.

Speeder - nearly there

Nearly there.

Only able to devote time on a few days lately but it's coming on.

Troops coming up.

Commander Aday

This Commander is as finished as it's going to be.

The Chaos one (belonging to Henry) has been around for a while but the new one (Lewis's) has finally been perched on his rock.

As I want to get on with the Land Speeder, which is coming along very slowly, I'm calling it a day.

(That's not his name - I mean that, as far as I'm concerned, I've finished!).

Scratch-built Storm Eagle

'Old' Andrew has been working on a scratch built Storm Eagle.

Made from mounting board, copper and plastic tubing, plumbing accessories, the plastic doors from a Rhino and cut down large square Warhammer bases (the missile pads).

A touch-up with various greens.

His next project, an entire army of Space Marines made from old camera components, three severely dented  brass band instruments, two pound of uncooked spaghetti and a 1932 New York fireman's helmet.

Jack's Grots

Here's Jack's collection of nicely painted Grots.

(Grots, what big teeth you have - All the better to eat you with, my dear. After I've drilled with a massive pistol!)

The Ork keeps well back. In front of Grots with gigantic pistols is not a good place to be.

Thanks Jack.

Land Speeder and Commander

Here's how the Land Speeder and Commander are coming along.

The flat large surface areas are worrying me more than the fine detail on the Speeder.

Not only are there colour changes in the blue but also I seem to be finding a lot of dust now that I'm painting downstairs and not in my 'office'.

Though they are taking me ages, it's all a bit rushed as I have limited time.

Jack called in today with some Grots and an Ork so we'll have pics of those up here soon.

(He has his eye on the Limited Edition box set)

James - Update

James, who went off a while ago with the Limited Edition box set from here, has now mailed us two short 'reports' about his painting and new school club.

29/9
Hi Tony,
The Last model is my favourite as well. I spend about an hour ish a model. the character was stood on a base with a stone from my garden which was cleaned. Then I put sand on the remaining base and gave the stone and sand a wash with nuln oil. Since I took some into school I have found many people into the hobby and have persuaded about 4 more to start. I am planning on going to my local gaming club tomorrow and playing a game or 2. We started a club at school so I have had some practise. When I get them uploaded I will send you the pictures of our battle. It was quite big. I bought another squad of marines, a predator and a scout squad with snipers. The predator is equipped with twin linked lascannon turret and lascannon sponsons. I am really enjoying Warhammer 40k and even though it is complicated sometimes I thoroughly enjoy playing. Am having fun playing and doing well as I have quite a big and powerful starter army. Love the looks of the interrogator chaplain. Hope to get more painting done soon.

My first battle today went well. I lost but was so close to winning. The scouts came in very hand with being able to use infiltrate. I infiltrated them into fortification meaning I had a 3+ save and then because of the cloaks I got a 2+ save which meant they lasted the whole match. I enjoyed it sooooo much. Might get a land speeder soon.

I replied that he'd have to come and teach me how to play!

He mentioned a Land Speeder. Mine is coming along slowly. Had to work on Lewis's Commander first. Pics will follow.

More from Andrew

I said I'd put the rest of 'Old' Andrew's models on here when I knew what they are.

Well, I did carefully write that down on a piece of paper.

Wonder what I did with it?

Oh, well. Here they are anyway.

The last is work in progress.
