Avenger Vet, Bridge and Spear

Here's the new bridge that Blake and I put together at the weekend.

Thanks Blake.

Stood astride it it the finished 'Avenger Vet' .

He holds the banner scanned and printed by Mo last week.

Thanks Mo.

He also brandishes a half troll spear put together using bits from John's extensive 'bits box'.

Now retired, John was known in Stannah Lift III as 'The Scrounger' or was it 'The Lounger'?

Thanks John.

This vet is some warrior.

As well as wresting the spear from a half troll, you will see, at his feet, the results of a combat with a full sized one.

That's a troll finger cut from one holding a hammer.

What was he holding originally? Do you plan on shortening the spear?

He was holding nothing in either hand. Just stood there with his arms wide. He's one of the Avenger Bolt Thrower crew - I'd guess the captain. Either that or a boastful fisherman.
I'd thought of breaking the spear so that it would look more reasonable in his hand. Now I've decided to take it out and use it later, perhaps for a half troll, a weapon swap.

A boastful fisherman in full plate Armour, a wise precaution that I'm sure all fishermen take. I thought of something new, what about a book or some sort? Like the Chaplins in Warhammer.

Shark fishing? The book's a thought. It would work as commander on the Bolt Thrower (angles and ranges) but taking time out to read in the middle of a battle might not be on. Perhaps he's an optimist and is reading 'Barry Bucknell's Book of Building Repair'?
He doesn't have to hold something but I'd like him to.

I was thinking more of fishing for those giant octopuses near the Mines of Moria? Although I don't think a Fishing Line would quite get the job done.

About the book, I was thinking more of a morale boosting passage or something alike. And yes, maybe he was dragged off by the Nazgûl one too many times.

The Watcher in the water. He'd need a long line too. That's about 100 leagues north. The morale booster come naturally to these guys. Think about Theoden'r as he rattles the spears of the Rohirrim or Gandalf's 'No matter what comes through that door ...
Thanks for popping in again.
Watch out for tomorrow's post, after school. I've been busy.

Yes I guess so, but I do remember the soldiers of Osgiliath being particularly upset about the whole situation, perhaps a little poem might cheer them up.

And I will do, as soon as Mum is finished on the Computer.

By the way. What do you think about the new Blog layout? I'll try and get the books back as background or a New Zealand view might be better.

I kind of prefer how it used to be, as now when I click on an image it takes me to a different page, which is far more awkward. But other than that, yeah, much improved.

I think New Zealand would be much better suited to this.

Yes. I'll check out old photos.

Yes, it's annoying. I like the layout but not how it functions. Working on crossbowmen and Mordor Uruks now.

Good, I really liked the armour of the most recent ones.

Do you have the pictures of the New Zealand Games Workshop? I think that would fit well.
